Description
We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Controller who will serve as a key member of the leadership team. This position is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, internal controls, and audit activities while leading a high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong manufacturing accounting background, experience managing financial operations, and the ability to provide strategic financial insight that supports organizational growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and accounting operations.

Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiencies.

Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies.

Partner with executive leadership to provide financial guidance and decision-making support.

Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department leaders.

Oversee cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold reporting, and manufacturing variance analysis.

Work closely with operations and technology teams to improve financial reporting processes and system efficiency.

Manage year-end audit activities and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Prepare special financial analyses, reports, and projects as requested by senior leadership.
Leadership Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.

Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development.

Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectations.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Allocate workloads and resources to ensure timely completion of financial responsibilities and reporting deadlines.

SALARY RANGE: $110,000-$140,000

Requirements
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
-
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.

Strong experience in manufacturing accounting environments.
Demonstrated expertise in:

Financial reporting

General ledger management

Cost accounting

Inventory accounting

Budgeting and forecasting

Variance analysis

Internal controls
-
Audit coordination
-
CPA designation is preferred but not required.
Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is highly desirable.

Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
