GENERAL SCOPE: The Contract Sales Consultant supports the successful lease-up of Lilac Grove Apartments, Jewish Home’s new independent living rental community for adults ages 62 and older. This flexible contract role is focused on generating qualified leads, conducting tours, following up with prospects and families, supporting outreach efforts, and helping prospective residents understand the value of Lilac Grove’s comfortable, maintenance-free apartment living on the Jewish Home campus. The position may be structured as full-time or part-time based on candidate availability and organizational need through the fill up period.

CONTRACT RATE: $30-45/hour + $500 commission per move-in.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: This position requires strong sales, relationship-building, customer service, and follow-up skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with older adults and families, clearly communicating community features and rental information, and guiding prospects through the inquiry, tour, application, deposit, apartment selection, and move-in decision process. Strong verbal and written communication, organization, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work independently are essential. Knowledge of senior living, apartment leasing, real estate, hospitality, or related sales is preferred.

A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Relevant experience in senior housing sales, market-rate or age-restricted apartment leasing, real estate, hospitality, customer service, or community outreach may be considered in place of formal education. A valid New York State driver’s license and clean driving record are preferred for outreach-related activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Sales and outreach responsibilities:

  • Support fill up of new 90-unit apartment building, with goal of converting inquiries and tours to new residents.

  • Represent Lilac Grove as a new independent living rental community for adults ages 62 and older, backed by the quality of Jewish Home.

  • Respond promptly to inquiries, conduct discovery conversations, and identify each prospect’s housing needs, timeline, preferences, and decision-making considerations.

  • Schedule and conduct tours of model apartments, common spaces, community amenities, outdoor areas, and relevant Jewish Home campus features.

  • Explain Lilac Grove’s rental offering, including one- and two-bedroom apartment options, included utilities, internet and cable TV, maintenance-free living, fitness and activity opportunities, parking options, and access to Jewish Home campus services.

  • Guide prospects through the application, deposit, apartment selection, and move-in planning process in coordination with Lilac Grove and Jewish Home staff.

  • Make consistent follow-up calls and emails to prospects, families, referral sources, and event attendees to advance leads toward lease commitment.

Administrative and collaboration responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of inquiries, tours, follow-up activity, prospect status, objections, and next steps, tracked in Welcome Home CRM system.

  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and community leadership to support occupancy goals and respond to prospect questions accurately.

  • Share feedback from prospects and referral sources to help refine messaging.

  • Support a warm, welcoming, and customer-focused experience that reflects Jewish Home’s reputation and mission.

  • Other sales and occupancy support duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE: Five or more years of successful sales, leasing, senior living, real estate, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage leads, build trust quickly, follow up consistently, overcome objections respectfully, and help prospects make timely decisions is essential. Experience working with older adults and families is highly valued.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in a professional office and senior living community environment, including model apartments, common areas, outdoor spaces, outreach locations, and event settings.

ADVERSE WORKING CONDITIONS: None beyond those normally associated with an office, community, outreach, and public-facing sales environment. The role involves regular interaction with prospects, residents, families, staff, and visitors.

VARIABLES: Flexible contract position. Hours may be full-time or part-time and may include weekdays, occasional evenings, and occasional weekend open houses or events based on prospect availability and lease-up needs.
