Position Summary: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join the Vortex back-end team within the Navigating Wellbeing portfolio, owning and evolving various member support services that enable Aetna Health's web and mobile applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions and systems by applying advanced technical expertise to architect and code software applications, conduct system testing and debugging, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall technical direction and innovation of digital engineering projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript and SQL
  • 3+ years of experience designing, building, and testing REST API's and microservices
  • 2+ years experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with unit and integration test frameworks like Jest and Mocha
  • Experience with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and other generative AI systems
  • Thoughtful approach to CI/CD concepts using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other pipelines
  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
  • Experience in Microservice and Serverless Architectures
  • Experience in open source frameworks
  • Experience in Agile practices

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
