Summary

About the Position: Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) one year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.

Duties

  • Direct, manage and supervise all law enforcement desk operations on an assigned shift.
  • Respond to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
  • Review all law enforcement reports and supporting documentation to include substantiating charges for correctness, completeness, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Perform required lifesaving first aid in the event of an emergency as the first responder to an incident until medical emergency personnel arrive.
  • Review journals, blotters, critical information reports, serious incident reports and other correspondence as necessary and disseminate them as required by standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper receipt, processing and safekeeping of evidence in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain communications with mobile patrol units, access control points, to pass direction and information to Police Officers.
  • Develop employee performance standards.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) conducting full range of complex law enforcement such as interviewing witnesses and interrogating suspects; 2) providing training and guidance on law enforcement regulations and procedures; AND 3) leading or supervising employees in the area of security or law enforcement. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Criminal Law Investigation and Reporting Leadership Reading Comprehension Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
