What You'll Do

The Sales Desk Manager is responsible for driving dealership sales performance through effective deal structuring, inventory management, sales team coaching, and customer engagement. This leader partners closely with Sales Consultants, Finance Managers, and dealership leadership to maximize vehicle sales volume, front-end gross profit, customer satisfaction, and overall dealership profitability.

  • Structure, desk, and approve new and used vehicle transactions to maximize profitability while maintaining a customer-focused sales process.

  • Work directly with Sales Consultants to assist with negotiations, objection handling, and deal closing.

  • Monitor daily sales activities, lead management, appointment conversion, and showroom traffic performance.

  • Coach and develop sales staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, CRM utilization, and customer engagement strategies.

  • Ensure consistent execution of OEM and dealership sales processes.

  • Partner with Finance & Insurance to ensure smooth deal progression and maximize overall deal profitability.

  • Manage trade evaluations and support inventory acquisition efforts to maintain appropriate inventory levels.

  • Review KPIs including volume, front-end gross, closing ratios, trade capture, lead conversion, and CSI performance.

  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and developing sales talent.

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by proactively resolving concerns and supporting positive customer outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, OEM, and dealership policies regarding sales transactions and documentation.

  • Support the General Sales Manager and General Manager in achieving dealership sales, market share, and profitability goals.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by dealership leadership.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of automotive sales management or desking experience within an OEM franchise dealership.

  • Track record of achieving sales volume, gross profit, and customer satisfaction goals.

  • Knowledge of deal structure, lender programs, vehicle financing, and F&I processes.

  • Experience managing both new and used vehicle sales operations.

  • Understanding of vehicle inventory management, pricing strategy, and trade evaluation.

  • Experience using dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar platforms).

  • Proficiency with CRM tools and lead management processes.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Total Rewards

$125,000 - $150,000/ per year; This is a performance driven position, eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives as part of total compensation, which includes a base/hourly/draw offset and opportunities for commission and bonus.

Actual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location. Final compensation will be established through the interview process in accordance with applicable pay equity and transparency laws.
