The Opportunity:Do you enjoy being out in the field instead of behind a desk? Are you someone who likes building relationships with local businesses and using sales data to drive results? If you’re looking for a role with independence and variety, we’d love for you to apply! In this position, you will:

Independently work in an assigned geographic territory by promoting lottery sales through direct contact with retailers. Extensive daily travel is required to market Lottery products to retail outlets. Employees will be required to drive a state vehicle while conducting official state business.

Use customer relationship management software to manage Scratch ticket inventory for each assigned retail location by analyzing individual retailer sales information and trends; determine and maintain appropriate allocation of product categories and reorder levels to ensure appropriate customization of Scratch ticket orders.

Recommend promotional activities specific to individual retailer's needs. Make recommendations to enhance retailers' merchandising efforts. Provide and ensure placement of point-of-sale display materials to retailers and encourage participation in promotional activities.

Maximize sales by expanding the number of retailers licensed to sell Lottery products, analyzing/monitoring sales, identifying potential sales barriers and recommending solutions to address the barriers.
Required Qualifications:• Sales experience that includes working with various business types to develop, present, implement, and evaluate marketing and sales strategies to reach sales goals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage an assigned territory by planning, prioritizing, and executing sales and service activities; developing and adjusting call and sales plans; and evaluating retailer performance to meet established goals and organizational objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze sales, inventory, and product performance data to identify trends, forecast demand, determine appropriate product mix and order quantities, and balance inventory levels to support sales while minimizing overstock.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with retailers (customers) and key contacts by understanding their business needs, monitoring performance and seasonal trends, and tailoring strategies and products accordingly.

Preferred/Desired Experience:• Experience with route sales, field sales, or merchandising.
- Experience with consumer goods.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and persuasively; listen effectively; educate retailers (customers) on effective merchandising and sales practices; and resolve issues or concerns in compliance with applicable policies, laws, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of product and promotional launches to support successful implementation, including planning product flow-through and ensuring retailer readiness and demand.
- Demonstrated ability to use assigned technology and systems (e.g., mobile devices, Microsoft products, CRM tools) to analyze data, communicate information, and adapt effectively to changing business needs and priorities.
Please Note:• Employees who are appointed to District Sales Representative positions must maintain a valid driver's license and submit a driving record that indicates respect for rules and regulations annually.
- Employees who are appointed to District Sales Representative positions will be expected to reside within a reasonable commute of their assigned territory.
- This position is included in a bargaining unit represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).
SALES INCENTIVE PAY: District Sales Representatives are also eligible to earn incentive pay of up to 5 additional ranges (approximately 12.5%) for achievement of specific sales goals in excess of normal performance standards which are set by Washington's Lottery.
