Overview

Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Hospitalist Resurrection Medical Center | Chicago, IL

Prime Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our inpatient gastroenterology team. This hospital-based position offers a desirable 7-on/7-off schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance while delivering high-quality care to patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.

The APP will work collaboratively with gastroenterologists, hospitalists, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams to manage inpatient consults, coordinate care, and support a growing GI service line within a physician-led healthcare system.

Position Highlights

  • Inpatient Gastroenterology Hospitalist role

  • 7-on/7-off block schedule

  • Work alongside an experienced team of gastroenterologists

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions

  • Perform patient assessments, daily rounds, consultations, and discharge planning

  • Coordinate care with hospitalists, specialists, and ancillary services

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inpatient GI consultations and follow-up evaluations

  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians

  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as appropriate

  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies and laboratory results

  • Coordinate procedures, transitions of care, and discharge planning

  • Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the EMR

  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

  • Current or eligible state licensure

  • Minimum of one year of Gastroenterology, Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, or related inpatient experience preferred

  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care

Pay Transparency

Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. Our Total Rewards package includes, but is not limited to, paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many more voluntary benefit options. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $125,000-$140,000 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
