Full job description

Description We are looking for a proactive Assistant Controller to support the accounting and financial operations of a multifaceted family office in Las Vegas, Nevada. This position will oversee core financial activities across a mix of business entities, charitable organizations, and personal financial matters while helping maintain accurate reporting and strong controls. The role offers meaningful exposure to complex accounting responsibilities and a clear path for continued advancement into broader leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce timely monthly financial packages that provide clear insight for ownership and internal stakeholders.

  • Manage and reconcile general ledger activity across multiple entities, including business, nonprofit, and personal financial accounts.

  • Strengthen the control environment by helping design, document, and monitor effective accounting safeguards and approval processes.

  • Refine day-to-day accounting workflows by improving procedures related to payables, receivables, and other core financial operations.

  • Support month-end close activities and ensure financial data is complete, accurate, and properly recorded.

  • Partner with ownership and internal team members to address financial questions, support planning, and align accounting activities with broader goals.

  • Assist with financial statement preparation, audit support, and other reporting needs as required across the organization.

  • Foster a dependable, team-oriented atmosphere through responsive communication, professionalism, and a solutions-focused approach. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.

  • 3+ years of accounting experience with progressively responsible duties.

  • Solid knowledge of month-end close, general ledger management, and financial reporting.

  • Experience supporting financial statement audits and maintaining accurate supporting documentation.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small, high-accountability team.

  • Demonstrated interest in growth and readiness to take on expanded leadership responsibilities.

  • Familiarity with DCAA-related accounting considerations is a plus.
