2nd Shift: Monday - Friday: 2:00 to 10:30pm Pay Rate: $22.50/ hour

About Your Role:

As a Battery Tech at Dollar Tree’s corporate office, you’ll Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electric-powered material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts.

Your day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

General Summary

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electric-powered material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues with MHE, including batteries, chargers, wiring, motors, and controls

  • Use maintenance software systems to log work orders, track performance metrics, and ensure accountability

  • Maintain accurate service records and complete required documentation

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime

  • Assist with or learn to maintain other facility systems, including:• Fire suppression systems

  • Overhead doors, dock plates, and levelers

  • Facility lighting and electrical systems

  • Battery changer equipment and charging stations

  • Warehouse racking and safety systems

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance work area

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members about repairs and equipment needs

What You’ll Bring Required:

  • 2+ years of experience performing maintenance or repair work on electric-powered material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical systems, motors, batteries, chargers, and wiring
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, diagrams, and schematics
  • Willingness to learn and support other warehouse maintenance systems, such as fire suppression, doors, dock equipment, racking, lighting, and battery handling
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn maintenance tracking software (CMMS)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to safely operate tools and powered equipment

Preferred:

  • Experience with battery changer systems or battery room safety
  • Experience using CMMS or digital work order systems
  • Certifications related to MHE repair, electrical safety, or equipment operation
  • OSHA training or other safety-related certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the shift
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Work in varying temperatures and warehouse environments
  • Use hand tools and powered equipment safely and effectively
  • Visually inspect equipment and parts for wear or damage
  • Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE use
