Position: Process Engineer

Location: Lebanon, PA

Salary: $70,000-$95,000

Position Summary

We are seeking a Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, improve casting quality, and drive operational efficiency. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining foundry processes, designing pattern rigging, supporting machining operations, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality castings are produced safely and cost-effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.

  • 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, ideally in foundry, metal casting, machining, or related industries.

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

  • Strong understanding of casting processes, pattern rigging, machining, defect analysis, and process improvement.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and casting blueprints.

  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks, 3D modeling, and laser scanning preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and control manufacturing processes affecting product quality.

  • Design pattern rigging and create shop travelers and routing instructions.

  • Perform casting simulations and support product/process development.

  • Investigate casting defects and implement corrective actions.

  • Maintain and improve manufacturing documentation, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Support Quality Management System (QMS) initiatives and compliance.

  • Collaborate with production teams and other facilities to resolve casting and machining issues.

  • Assist with quoting castings, machining services, heat treatment, and related operations.

  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.

  • Support evaluation and adoption of new manufacturing technologies.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to analyze detailed technical information and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
