Full job description

Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Roadway Design) to join our Transportation team in Boise ID in Summer 2027, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our transportation clients' challenges locally and worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and apply your academic knowledge to real-world civil engineering challenges. You will assist our team in various aspects of roadway, highway, and transit design and learn about industry-standard procedures and software.

Project opportunities may include supporting the design of highways, intersections, and local roads. You'll work alongside experienced Engineers and Project Managers, gaining valuable insights into the field of roadway engineering.

Your Responsibilities May Include:

  • Help prepare technical reports and design documentation

  • Participate in site visits to observe roadway conditions and data collection processes

  • Assist in roadway geometric design calculations and layout

  • Support the development of highway alignment and cross-section plans

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution

  • Completed coursework related to transportation engineering or highway design

  • Driver’s License

Ideally, You Will Also Have :

  • 3.0 GPA

  • Must be at least a rising Junior

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil3D software

  • A previous internship related to your field of study

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship
