Full job description
Mason City, IA, USA | Foster Care and Adoption | Occasional
"LSI is there to build up and encourage families and individuals, so they can experience a healthy life." Dawn, LSI Foster Care and Adoption Service Area Leader
If you have a passion for making a positive change in your community, LSI is looking for you! LSI's dynamic and experienced Foster Care and Adoption team is looking for a compassionate, dedicated Occasional Recruitment & Retention Specialist to make an impact in the lives of Iowa children and families. This is a remote position, providing outreach to our Northern Iowa service (serving clients surrounding the Mason City and Fort Dodge areas in collaboration with Four Oaks).
What We Do
As one of Iowa's most trusted human services agencies, LSI has a legacy of serving children and families for more than 150 years. Our Foster Care and Adoption services empower families and keep kids safe by recruiting, licensing, and supporting foster and adoptive parents in more than 30 western Iowa counties. You can make a direct impact on the lives of the children and families we are privileged to serve.
What You'll Do
The Recruitment & Retention Specialist is responsible for the recruitment of quality foster and adoptive families in western Iowa. It is important for this role to recruit families that reflect the race, ethnicity, and culture of the children coming into care. The Recruitment & Retention Specialist will also play a key role in retaining families and will lead a mentor program for foster parents.
The person in this role will work closely with LSI's Marketing and Community Engagement team, as well as Four Oak's Marketing and Community Engagement team, to leverage expertise with the Recruitment & Retention Specialist's on-the-ground efforts. This role is also responsible for engaging current foster or adoptive families to assist with family-to-family recruitment and raising awareness about the need for more foster and adoptive families in Iowa.
What You'll Need
Qualified candidates for this job will have a high school diploma and a minimum of two years experience in child welfare services. Preferred applicants will have a bachelor's degree in social work, human services, human resource management or a related field. Experience with customer service and recruitment is highly desired.
The Recruitment & Retention Specialist must have the ability to communicate effectively and possess the skills, energy, and desire to reach out and collaborate with numerous entities like media, faith communities, and families to increase the number of quality licensed foster and approved adoptive homes.
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record, and the ability to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and the criminal history check.
How We'll Support You
In addition to joining an outstanding team, you'll enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
-
Competitive pay
-
401(k) with employer matching contributions
-
Generous paid time off accrual, paid holidays and flex holidays
-
