Registered Nurse (RN)General Surgery0.90 FTE, 72 Hours a Pay PeriodDays, Hours between 7:30 am - 5 pmWeekends: No WeekendsHolidays: No Holidays*Starting Pay Between $30.36 - $37.95 Based on Experience

Position Overview:

The Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the care of clinic patients. The Clinic RN is skilled in all aspects of nursing process, delegates, and supervises staff in assistive roles on the same shift and is responsible to deliver the highest of customer service standards for patients and families presenting for services at Winona Health. The Clinic RN will assess and triage patients to make certain of the appropriateness of care. Will provide patient care including but not limited to rooming of patients, performing assessments and gathering of data for the physician. Patient information will be entered into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Direct patient care will include but is not limited to taking vital signs, medication administration, treatments, intravenous therapy, wound and nail care, monitoring of patients, scheduling and coordination of care for referral to specialty care and general assistance to the provider as needed. Other responsibilities include assisting with procedures. Must be able to assist at all Winona Health Clinic locations if necessary.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees LPNs in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act.

  • Physical assessments of patients.

  • Triaging of presenting patients for appropriateness of care.

  • Taking vital signs and monitoring patients.

  • Administration of medications, IV’s, and immunizations as ordered.

  • Implements protocols/orders after appropriate assessments.

  • Assisting with surgical procedures, monitoring, and assessments of patients.

  • Inputting of all applicable data into the EMR (Cerner).

  • Contacting patients with lab results and medication changes as ordered by the physician.

  • Coordinating schedules and procedures.

  • Coordinating and scheduling of care for patients referred for specialty care.

  • Coordinating physician schedule in clinic.

  • Scheduling of surgery or diagnostic studies.

  • Physician schedule in clinic and/or Operating Room (OR).

  • Ensuring nursing supplies and medications are properly ordered and available.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • RN License - MN

  • Current BLS Certification

  • Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Cerner
