About the Role

The Central Desk Associate supports warehouse Operations by coordinating purchase orders, pick ticket generation, inventory management, order expediting, and invoicing activities. This position also provides critical support to Sales, Purchasing, and other departments by resolving order and inventory issues and helping ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate pick ticket generation and allocation activities across multiple warehouse locations to support operational needs and off-site facilities.

  • Monitor inventory activity, process adjustments, and research product discrepancies to help maintain accurate inventory and support nightly operations.

  • Coordinate customer order expediting by monitoring allocations, identifying orders requiring attention, researching suitable substitutions, and ensuring information reaches Operations by established cutoff times.

  • Support Sales and other departments by researching missing products, processing order cancellations, responding to general order inquiries, and helping resolve customer order issues.

  • Prepare and execute invoicing activities, including case ticket and batch confirmations, secondary market billing, FedEx invoicing, invoice-only requests, and end-of-night invoicing for each wave.

  • Monitor order status and operational reports to identify issues, prioritize time-sensitive work, and help ensure orders are ready for established entry and fulfillment cutoffs.

  • Partner with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Order Entry, and other teams to communicate order needs, special requests, substitutions, and inventory concerns.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role regularly requires the ability to talk, hear, read, and work with computer-based systems and written documentation. The position requires close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Other Information

Location: Indianapolis

Schedule: Sunday – Thursday

Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to finish

Monday – Thursday: 11:30 a.m. to finish

Additional hours may be required during peak and holiday seasons.

This is an onsite position supporting warehouse operations.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.

  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot customer orders, inventory issues, and operational challenges with attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize time-sensitive work and meet established operational cutoffs.

  • Knowledge of Apprise is a plus.

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, order management, inventory control, customer service, or a related environment is a plus.
