Full job description

Description

A growing energy company is seeking an experienced Accountant to support critical accounting operations during a period of continued growth. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you'll contribute to financial reporting, month-end close, project accounting, and regulatory compliance. Strong performers will be considered for full-time employment following the contract period (Around 6 months). Apply today - don't miss out!

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.

  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP.

  • Analyze financial results and investigate account variances.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

  • Track capital expenditures and project-related costs.

  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and asset tracking.

  • Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.

  • Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for accuracy.

  • Prepare regulatory, tax, and compliance-related documentation as needed.

  • Partner with operations, project managers, and finance leadership to improve financial processes and reporting.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 3+ years of accounting experience.

  • Experience within the energy, utilities, renewable energy, oil & gas, engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors is highly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

  • Experience with project accounting, capital projects, or cost accounting.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
