Full job description

Job Title: Junior Chemist

Location: Naugatuck, CT

Type: Contract

Compensation: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour

Work Model: Onsite

Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday, 1st Shift

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory testing using Classical Chemistry, Chromatographic, and ICP Spectrophotometric equipment

  • Support analytical investigations for new business opportunities in Urethanes, Lubricants/Additives, and Plastic Additives

  • Conduct wet chemistry testing and analysis

  • Operate and maintain GC and HPLC instrumentation

  • Manage laboratory-generated hazardous waste in compliance with RCRA standards

  • Follow laboratory safety procedures and emergency response protocols

  • Participate in required compliance and safety training

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemistry

  • 0-2 years of related industry experience

  • Knowledge of Chromatography (GC, HPLC, GPC, Liquid and Gas Chromatography)

  • Practical knowledge of Classical Chemistry techniques (Titrations, Melt Point, Viscosity, Karl Fischer, etc.)

  • Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Must be able to work on-site 5 days per week

  • Entry-level candidates encouraged; training provided for the right candidate
