Job Description: The Procurement Technical Analyst (PMA/DER) supports strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned procurement categories. In this role, you will help develop and execute category strategies that enable UPS to procure goods and services at the best overall value while supporting business objectives. As a category subject matter expert, you will analyze spend, supplier performance, market trends, and cost-saving opportunities to drive continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, support negotiations, and help ensure sourcing activities align with company policies, risk management requirements, and category-specific regulations.

This position is ideal for professionals looking to build their sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and strategic planning expertise within a global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of sourcing and category management strategies.
  • Analyze spend data, supplier performance, market intelligence, and cost-saving opportunities within assigned categories.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and identify procurement solutions that deliver value.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while supporting supplier performance management initiatives.
  • Participate in supplier negotiations and contract discussions to achieve favorable business outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the supplier base and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and report on category performance metrics, savings targets, and supplier effectiveness.
  • Ensure sourcing activities comply with applicable regulations, company policies, and risk mitigation requirements.
  • Assist in developing contingency plans and risk management strategies for assigned categories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support procurement projects and business initiatives.
  • Share insights and recommendations based on data analysis, industry trends, and stakeholder feedback.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of procurement, sourcing, supplier management, or related business functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, or supplier management.
  • Experience analyzing spend data, supplier performance metrics, or financial information.
  • Knowledge of category management principles and strategic sourcing methodologies.
  • Experience supporting supplier negotiations or contract management activities.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems, reporting tools, and data analytics platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive process improvements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Procurement, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Candidates must be geographically located within the same region as the position or be willing to self-relocate.
