Position Summary

The Engineer position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or repeat products.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Generates new or repeat manufacturing planning for parts and tools per customer purchase order requirements.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed drawings, using CAD, to support planning and tooling design.

  • Performs research to solve specific design problems.

  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.

  • Executes tasks according to standard engineering principles and practices.

  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with all customer, industrial & government regulations.

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree (minimum) in related field

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in engineering planning

  • Machine shop experience highly desirable

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Demonstrated success as a member/facilitator of cross-functional teams

  • Ability to work with people to get to root causes and to encourage better performance

  • Experience in machining or engineering projects

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Computer literacy: Solidworks, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook

  • Possesses excellent communication skills in writing policy, procedure, work instruction, and reports

  • Extensive familiarity with product design/engineering documents as well as GD&T

  • Understanding of individual contribution to the product conformity and product safety.

  • The importance of ethical behavior.
