Full job description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate the Teacher Center Policy Board comprised of local educators

  • Collaborate with Broome-Tioga BOCES to implement the mission of the Teacher Center

  • Support teachers using the Center's workroom during hours of operation (Monday-Thursday, 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM)

  • Coordinate and/or provide professional development for educators that is aligned with the approved grant and aligned with current NYS initiatives

  • Coordinate submission of annual grant, reports, and budgets required by SED

  • Manage the Teacher Center budget and prepare necessary reports for SED

  • Participate in state Teacher Center Director Meetings and in regional Southern Tier Teacher Center Network meetings

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • NYS Teacher CertificationPossession of a valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with managing grants

  • Experience with budget development and management

  • Knowledge of educational trends, current research and practices, state mandates, and instructional technologies

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills

  • Experience supporting quality professional development for teachers

  • Experience with the use of technology in instruction and program administration
