We are looking for a dependable and safety-focused Lifeguard to join our team at a premier client site located in the Seagate area of South Brooklyn, NY . In this role, you'll help maintain a safe, welcoming aquatic environment while providing excellent service to members and guests. This position is ideal for an independent professional who is confident making decisions and responding effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Enjoy a flexible schedule with availability for early morning shifts (7:00 AM-12:00 PM) and/or afternoon/evening shifts (3:00 PM-8:00 PM).

Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.

  • Enforce and explain rules as necessary.

  • Respond appropriately to any emergency.

  • Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.

  • Attend all required staff meetings and training.

  • Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.

  • Maintain a professional attitude.

  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old.

  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.

  • Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.

  • Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.

All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:

  • Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.

  • Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.

  • Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.

The compensation range for this role is $16/hr - $18hr. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
