A cafeteria and hallway monitor specific responsibility is to ensure the safety and welfare of students during classroom and non-classroom activities. Minimizing the frequency and/or severity of harmful incidents and communicating positive role model.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor student behavior in various settings during and between assigned periods and checks facilities (e.g. restrooms, cafeteria, parking lot, etc.) consistently for the purpose of ensuring students compliance with established guidelines, maintaining safe and positive learning environment.

  • Ensure students are using hall pass system appropriately.

  • Keep students at an appropriate voice level and orderly while in the halls and cafeteria.

  • Report inappropriate behavior to classroom teacher and administration.

  • Stand and be seen when students are in hallway or cafeteria

  • Communicate with students to create positive relationships.

  • Encourage positive table manners

  • The following physical activates are part of the duties involved:

  • Sweep, mop, clean table tops, take out trash in cafeteria

  • Move and set up tables/desk this will require 2 employees

  • Other duties assigned may also include physical by Supervisor

  • 10 month position, days, 5.5 hours per day.
