Job Description

A role on the Global Technology Strategy team offers the opportunity to work directly on the firm’s most pressing technology priorities, offering exposure to high-impact decisions, a broad view across JPMorganChase, and the chance to help shape the future direction of the firm’s technology agenda.

As a Vice President on the Global Technology Strategy team, you will partner directly with some of the firm’s most senior technology leaders to shape the firmwide view on technology strategy for key initiatives at the forefront of the industry, applying the strategy consulting toolkit (e.g., problem framing, critical thinking, analysis/synthesis, executive narrative, stakeholder management) to solve complex, cross-cutting technology problems. You will lead project teams end-to-end and develop/mentor junior talent as part of delivering high-impact outcomes for GT leadership.

You will bring meaningful technical depth and a strong command of how the AI landscape is evolving – particularly for financial institutions – paired with the leadership and communication skills to drive clarity on high-stakes decisions. This is not solely a people-management role: you will be hands-on in shaping the answer, engaging directly with stakeholders on the substance of the work, driving alignment to a defensible direction, and mobilizing stakeholders toward execution across priorities.

The Global Technology (GT) organization is a world-class technology team employing an innovative, disciplined and business-focused approach to develop a wide variety of high-quality products and solutions. Across 14 technology hubs worldwide, our team of 65,000+ technologists design, build and deploy everything from enterprise technology initiatives to big data and mobile solutions, as well as innovations in Agentic/Generative AI, electronic payments, cybersecurity, machine learning, and cloud development. Our $20B+ annual investment in technology enables us to hire people to create innovative solutions that will not only transform the financial services industry, but also change the world.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the firm’s most senior technology leaders as a trusted advisor and thought partner on their most pressing and consequential strategic questions

  • Lead day-to-day delivery of projects addressing the Firm’s technology strategic initiatives, each with dedicated senior technology stakeholders, and drive them from problem framing through to a defensible, agreed answer

  • Frame the problems the organization should be working on, bringing clarity and a defensible direction to the firm’s most complex, consequential and politically charged decisions

  • Translate highly complex technical challenges into crisp, executive-ready narratives for technical and non-technical senior stakeholders

  • Build and socialize frameworks, operating models, and roadmaps that scale across a large, distributed organization

  • Monitor industry trends and the evolution of the AI space—especially as it applies to financial institutions—and apply leading practices to inform and evaluate the firmwide technology strategy

  • Develop and mentor team members on professional development, technical/tools upskilling, career advice, and communications

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 7+ years of business and technology strategy experience, with proven end-to-end ownership of complex, cross-cutting work

  • Experience advising senior leaders/clients on enterprise technology strategy in a broad, complex corporate environment

  • Strong relationship, interpersonal, facilitation, and influencing skills; ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior business and technology executives

  • Strong fluency across core technical concepts and enterprise operating models, with the ability to interface credibly with senior technologists, architects, and engineers and synthesize complexity into clear strategic direction

  • Strong grasp of the evolving AI landscape, including fluency in how AI is being adopted and governed within financial institutions

  • Demonstrated ability to drive a wide group of stakeholders toward a common, defensible answer and mobilize them toward execution

  • Excellent technical and business presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver a compelling, credible narrative that weaves together strategy, emerging technologies, and industry trends for both technical and non-technical senior executives

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize critical issues, structure ambiguous problems, distill feedback into root causes, and drive efficient decision-making, with a proven entrepreneurial style

  • Proficiency using AI tools and platforms in day-to-day work for operational efficiency

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business or a technology field (or related field)

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Authoritative grasp of AI governance, model risk management, and designing the operating models needed to scale emerging technologies under regulatory scrutiny

  • Hands-on experience using agentic AI development tools to build assets in service of answering strategic questions (as opposed to building PowerPoint decks)

  • System perspective on how architecture, governance, risk and talent interact at firm scale

  • Proven success leading firmwide technology transformation initiatives
