Job Description

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the materials team in executing efficient receiving, inventory control, and distribution processes, while ensuring compliance with safety standards, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting production schedules. The Material Supervisor acts as a key link between warehouse operations, production, and supply chain management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee receiving, storing, and distributing materials to ensure timely support of production and shipping schedules.

Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and guidance to material handlers, clerks, and technicians.

Monitor inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and ensure proper documentation and system updates (e.g., in SAP or other ERP systems).

Collaborate with production, logistics, procurement, and quality teams to resolve material flow issues and support operational efficiency.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of applicable experience

3+ years of experience

Skills

Ability to supervise, motivate, and develop a team of material handlers and clerks, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

Strong understanding of inventory management principles.

Experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) to track, adjust, and report material movements.

Effective communication with cross-functional teams (production, logistics, procurement).

Ability to quickly resolve material flow issues or discrepancies.
