Job Description
Our Timaru team are on the lookout for responsible and reliable people with a positive work ethic to join our friendly team on a casual basis. Please note that this is a casual role, with no guaranteed hours. What you will be doing:
- Assisting with bunker operations for vessels when they are at the Port
- Discharging of fuel tankers into Oil Industry Terminal tanks
- Other duties may be offered should you have the right skills and positive approach to work
- Involves manual handling of up to 25kgs and working outside in all weather conditions
- Vessels can arrive at any time of the day or night, weekdays or weekend, so flexibility is key for this role
Qualifications
Profile:
- Proven ability to manage your time and work in a busy environment
- Due to working hours and the need to be available on short notice, ideally you will be based locally
- Owing to the nature of the work and scheduling requirements, you will need to be able to work, days, nights, weekends and public holidays in all weather conditions when required
- Demonstrated skill in following operating procedures including strict health and safety requirements
- Knowledge of and previous experience working in the Oil, Gas and Chemical Industry highly advantageous
Qualifications:
- Good verbal communication and able to maintain accurate written records
- Commuter literate
- Must hold a current and unrestricted New Zealand Driver’s License
- Forklift License (an advantageous)
- Pass a drug screening and MOJ process
- Must have the right to work in New Zealand
