About the role

Safely performs and operates computer-controlled equipment and more mechanically based machines in a food processing facility, including but not limited to dehulling equipment, forklift and aerial lifts, extrusion, bucket elevators, dryers, roller mills and other types of milling, stretch wrappers etc....

Key responsibilities

Understands the manufacturing process. Converts raw materials and other tangible items into finished goods, and meets production targets and report any deviations. Monitors machine parameters and troubleshoot processing problems that may occur.

Receives food items in, assists in unloading food items from delivery vehicles, and ensures all food items received in are of acceptable quality and correct quantity.

Prepares and examines materials for processing. Take hourly readings of temperatures, amps, pressures of various equipment throughout the shift and report any deviations and make corrections.

Package and palletize 50lb bags. Accurately record information into SAP.

Follow all site specific safety polices like LOTO. HACCP knowledge a plus.

Follow all quality standards and GMP's.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stoop, carry, reach, stand, grip, push, pull, arm extensions and perform elevated work.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work overtime and use a flexible schedule.

  • PFT & respirator fit test required

  • Working at heights / climbing ladders

The pay rate for this position is $19.50 per hour.
