Job Description Job Title: SAP BW / HANA / ABAP Developer Location: Remote

Position summary We are looking for a strong SAP BW/HANA Developer with deep, hands-on expertise across BW/BW4HANA data modelling, native SAP HANA development, and ABAP/ABAP-on-HANA programming. This role demands core technical strength — not surface familiarity — in all four pillars: BW, HANA, ABAP, and HANA SQL. The ideal candidate can independently design data models, write performant HANA SQL/SQLScript, and build custom ABAP logic across the data layer. Core Skills — Must Be Strong

• SAP BW / BW4HANA — data modelling, ADSOs, CompositeProviders, transformations, process chains, query design.

• SAP HANA — calculation views (graphical & script-based), analytic/attribute views, modelling best practices.

• ABAP — core ABAP development, OOABAP, and ABAP on HANA (code pushdown, AMDP).

• HANA SQL / SQLScript — advanced query writing, performance tuning, stored procedures, table functions. Candidates should be able to speak to real project depth in each of these four areas, not just one or two — this is a strong-hands-on-all-round profile, not a specialist in a single tool. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize BW/BW4HANA data models (ADSO, CompositeProvider, Open ODS View, InfoObjects).

• Develop calculation views, analytic views, and complex SQLScript-based logic in native HANA.

• Write and maintain ABAP programs, function modules, and AMDP-based transformation routines.

• Tune HANA SQL queries and data models for performance — partitioning, indexing, and execution plan analysis.

• Build and maintain DTPs, transformation rules, and process chains for reliable, monitored data loads.

• Integrate BW/HANA outputs with reporting layers (BEx, SAP Analytics Cloud, or equivalent BI tools).

• Troubleshoot data load failures, performance bottlenecks, and data reconciliation issues across the BW/HANA stack.

• Collaborate with functional teams to translate business/reporting requirements into technical data models.

• Document technical designs, data models, and transformation logic; support testing and go-live activities. Required Qualifications Experience

• 5-8+ years of overall SAP experience, with strong hands-on exposure to BW/BW4HANA, native HANA modelling, and ABAP.

• Demonstrated project experience writing HANA SQL/SQLScript for performance-critical data logic.

• Experience with ABAP on HANA — code pushdown techniques, AMDP, and HANA-optimized ABAP. Technical Skills

• Strong command of BW LSA/LSA++ architecture, InfoObjects, transformations, and process chain monitoring.

• Hands-on HANA modelling: calculation views (graphical and SQLScript-based), analytic/attribute views.

• Proficient in Core ABAP, OOABAP, and debugging complex custom developments.

• Strong SQL fundamentals with the ability to write and tune complex HANA SQL queries and stored procedures.

• Familiarity with SAP source system extraction (ECC/S4HANA) and RFC-based connections. Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Good to Have

• Exposure to SAP Datasphere or SAP BW/4HANA migration/conversion projects.

• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or other BI/reporting tool integration.

• Knowledge of SAP BTP and OData-based data consumption.

• Exposure to S/4HANA data structures (Universal Journal / ACDOCA) is a plus. Preferred Certifications

• SAP Certified Application Associate — SAP BW/4HANA

• SAP Certified Development Associate — ABAP with SAP HANA

• SAP Certified Technology Associate — SAP HANA Soft Skills & Attributes

• Strong analytical mindset with a bias toward performance and data accuracy.

• Able to work independently on complex technical builds with minimal hand-holding.

• Good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with business and BI teams.

• Comfortable in Agile/Scrum delivery environments handling multiple concurrent workstreams.
