Full job description

The East Rochester School District is seeking a dedicated Elementary School Counselor for a full-time, tenure-track position. We are looking for professionals who are eager to establish long-term roots and build a fulfilling, lifelong career within our school community. Ideal candidates demonstrate a strong commitment to an inclusive, student-centered approach to education.

  • Promote Academic and Social-Emotional Learning

  • Provide Tier 1 instruction

  • Provide Tier 2 instruction, interventions, and counseling for K-5

  • Support on-demand, initial intake, and counseling needs

  • Support student and family case management

  • Help students realize their potential and make progress

  • 504 Case Manager

  • Maintain and enhance collaboration with team members and department members, including participation in relevant committees

  • Lead building-level and community organization opportunities to enhance social-emotional student learning

  • Utilize technology to maximize instruction and learning

  • Support students in crises and provide appropriate interventions

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student well-being

  • Conduct assessments and develop action plans for students who require additional support and guidance

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions

  • Support building-level scheduling process as well as individual student schedules

Job Qualifications

NYS School Counselor Certification and prior Elementary School experience preferred, but not necessary
