Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Staff Electronics Integration Engineer to join our team in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA or Palmdale, CA . This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.

A successful candidate will be familiar with one or more of the following; understanding of one or multiple of the following: Weapon systems, apertures architecture and integration, advanced signal processing techniques, sensor modeling, survivability techniques and sensor performance validation. Responsibilities will include the requirement to familiarize yourself with the design, development and sustainment of an avionics related subsystem.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is NO remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience.

  • Practical experience working with RF-related payload systems

  • Experience interfacing directly with supplier team technical staff to resolve issues in NG labs

  • Successful history of resolving integration issues by teaming with various IPTs and suppliers to incorporate solutions, while meeting program schedule

  • Must have an active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active USG Top Secret SCI CLEARANCE with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

  • Be a highly motivated self-starter with an ability to operate effectively on a team of engineers and technicians.

  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering

  • Experience in avionics / payloads system integration and test

  • Familiarity with common industry standards related to communications systems, such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-232, IPv4/IPv6

  • Experience with RF based test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters

  • Experience working on Agile Scrum teams

  • Experience with the following programming and scripting languages: C, C++, and/or Python

  • Networking experience (Layer 2/3 Networking and training/certifications (Network+, Security+, etc.)

  • Recent experience and proficiency in software architecture, design, implementation, integration, Docker Containers, RHEL 8.10 or later.

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
