Position Overview

Join International Motors and help grow our used-truck business in Springfield, Missouri. As we expand our Used Truck Reconditioning Center (UTRC), we're looking for a driven Commercial Truck Sales Representative who is ready to build relationships, develop new business, and create opportunities in the Springfield market and surrounding areas.

This is more than a traditional sales role. You'll have the opportunity to build and grow your own customer base, connect end users with the right commercial truck solutions, and turn prospects into long-term customers. You'll work closely with our experienced used-truck team while leveraging the resources of International's 11 Used Truck Centers and headquarters in Lisle, Illinois.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives on developing new business, enjoys working directly with customers, and understands the commercial trucking industry. Whether you bring experience selling Class 8 trucks, automotive products, or other complex products in a commission-based environment, this is an opportunity to make an impact while building a successful sales territory.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a new and existing customer base throughout Springfield and surrounding markets.Identify new business opportunities and proactively prospect high-potential customers and end users.

  • Build trusted relationships with customers by understanding their business, fleet needs, and purchasing objectives.

  • Conduct face-to-face sales meetings and deliver tailored used-truck solutions from available inventory.

  • Maintain accurate customer and prospect activity in the CRM and consistently follow up on sales opportunities.

  • Respond to warm leads and develop new opportunities through outbound prospecting and relationship building.

  • Stay current on available used-truck inventory and actively participate in inventory management and sales strategy.

  • Prepare customer quotes, invoices, and other sales documentation accurately and efficiently.

  • Partner with dealer sales representatives to identify conquest opportunities, expand existing relationships, and retain customers.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic prospects, fleet operators, dealers, and other commercial customers.

  • Participate in local marketing, advertising, networking, and customer outreach activities to strengthen International's presence in the market.

  • Complete company and industry training to build expertise in International products, competitive offerings, sales tools, and commercial truck sales strategies.

  • Work closely with management, marketing, reconditioning, and other Used Truck Center teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED AND

  • At least 2 years of outside or inside sales experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDL status (Commercial Driver’s License)

Desired Skills

  • Demonstrated success in sales, business development, or territory growth.

  • Experience selling commercial trucks, Class 8 vehicles, automotive products, equipment, or other complex products is preferred.

  • Experience working in a commission-based sales environment is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of commercial truck specifications, applications, and customer requirements.

  • Knowledge of International truck products and/or competitive truck brands is preferred.

  • Proven ability to prospect, develop new business, and build a territory from the ground up.

  • Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills.

  • Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into practical product solutions.

  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to own results and grow the business.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and follow-up skills.

  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a broader sales and support organization.

  • Ability to learn new products, technologies, sales systems, and industry-specific tools quickly.

Benefits and Compensation

This position offers competitive market-based compensation, along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee wellbeing. The annual base salary for this role is $72K a year + commission.
