About the Position: This position is located at Martin Army Community Hospital; within Directorate of Executive Quality Management at Fort Benning, Ga. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

• Serves as the action officer for the Risk Management/Patient Safety Programs.
• Reviews all medical record requests from attorneys to determine if reason for request is potential litigation
• Responsible for researching appropriate Federal and State laws/regulations to keep abreast of the latest changes which impact on the MEDDAC.
• Participates in planning, organizing, and conducting training of service, ward, clinical, and support personnel in risk management techniques.
• Serves as clinical resource for the patient representative, congressional inquiries, safety, and inspector general complaints in the identification and investigation of risk management problems.
• Plans and assigns work to be accomplished, sets priorities, prepares schedules, and reviews the work of subordinates.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing policies to improve performance of services within a medical facility; providing budget oversight for expenditures within a medical facility; utilizing automated healthcare delivery and office automation systems to enter and retrieve data for reports; and coordinating multidisciplinary workflows to optimize medical facility services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
