Intern Undergraduate - Experience Designer

Job Summary

The Experience Design / UX Intern will support the design and improvement of internal digital products, services, workflows, and communications within the Informatics & Analytics department. The intern will report to and work closely with the department’s Experience Designer. The intern will also collaborate with analysts, developers, data management, and other stakeholders across the health system. This internship will provide hands-on experience across user experience design, user research, service design, process improvement, technical communication, graphic design, and emerging AI-enabled tools. The intern will contribute to real projects used by employees and teams throughout the health system. The position is intended for a student or early-career designer who wants experience working on complex enterprise and healthcare-related challenges. The intern will learn how human-centered design can improve not only digital interfaces, but also organizational processes, information sharing, employee experiences, and the adoption of new technology.

Job Duties

Primary Responsibilties:

• User research

• Intranet design and information architecture

• Presentation, diagram, and flowchart design

• Usability testing

• Technical writing and content design

• Interaction design and prototyping

• Design system and interface standards development and maintenance

• Service and process design

• AI experience design

• Dashboard UX consultation

• Graphic and visual communication design

• Collaboration and project support

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Depending on project needs, the intern may also be introduced to other analytics, development, research, or project management tools used within the department.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)
