What We Offer

  • Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours (exempt), schedule will be M-F generally 8-5/ 9-6 with some flexibility possible

  • Department : Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Neonatal Nutritionist

  • Location : Forsyth Medical Center, Winston Salem, NC

  • Requirements : Please see requirements section listed below for education & certification requirements.

  • Unit Info: Level III and Level IV NICU. P rovides expert, around-the-clock intensive care for premature and seriously ill babies born or transferred here from outlying counties. Our specialized team works to help bring little ones home as soon as possible.

What You'll Do

Works under the supervision of the Manager of Clinical Nutrition. Provides direct patient care by implementing medical nutrition therapy according to standards of nutrition care. Participates as an integral member of the health care team in day-to-day activities, serving as a resource on nutrition management of the specialty practice area; including patient care conferences, nutrition related lectures, program development, student/intern rotations, and performance and quality improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • Education : 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Degree in food and nutrition or dietetics from an accredited university with an approved internship or qualifying experience. Graduate Degree, preferred. Masters Degree with emphasis on Science / Human Biochemistry.

  • Experience : 5 years of clinical experience with ≥ 2 years newborn/pediatric experience preferred; OR Intensive Care experience or ≥ 6 weeks training OR Research / Publication Accomplishments preferred, preferred.

  • Licensure/Certification:

  • Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), required.

  • State of North Carolina license as a licensed dietitian / nutritionist (LDN), required.

  • American Heart Association HS (Heart Saver), required.

  • Specialized Certification (ie. Board Certified in Pediatric Nutrition – CSP, or Certified Nutrition Support Clinician CNSC), preferred.
