Project Manager-Emergency Communications & CAD Integrations

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in emergency communications, 911 dispatch technologies, and CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) integrations. This individual will lead a critical communications center modernization initiative while simultaneously managing an active portfolio of integration projects with public safety agencies and dispatch centers.

This is not a traditional IT Project Manager role. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience working within the 911, emergency communications, public safety, CAD vendor, or dispatch technology ecosystem and understand the operational and business workflows that support communication centers.

Responsibilities Communications Center Modernization

• Lead a multi-phase communications center modernization program.

• Manage the replacement and consolidation of multiple systems into a unified user experience for dispatch and nursing staff.

• Partner with business stakeholders to redesign workflows while minimizing disruption to end users.

• Drive implementation efforts related to application modernization, product replacement, and telecom enhancements.

• Support future modernization phases planned through 2027. CAD & Integration Portfolio Management

• Manage an active portfolio of approximately 28 CAD-to-CAD integration projects in various stages.

• Coordinate integration efforts between internal emergency communication centers and external 911/Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs).

• Lead projects from discovery through deployment, including:

• Business requirements gathering

• Project kickoff and stakeholder alignment

• Vendor coordination

• Connectivity establishment

• Workflow design and configuration

• Testing and UAT

• Go-live planning and execution

• Partner closely with fire departments, PSAPs, vendors, and internal technical teams. Stakeholder Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact across vendors, dispatch centers, public safety organizations, and internal teams.

• Translate technical concepts into clear, non-technical communication for stakeholders unfamiliar with integration processes.

• Build trust and confidence with external agencies throughout implementation efforts.

• Facilitate recurring project meetings and integration status reviews.

Skills and Requirements

• Experience managing projects involving 911 dispatch centers, emergency communications centers, public safety agencies, or related technology environments.

• Strong knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) platforms and CAD integration projects.

• Experience working with communication center technologies and operational workflows.

• Background coordinating integrations between dispatch centers, PSAPs, fire departments, or emergency response organizations.

• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders.

• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience driving projects through requirements gathering, implementation, testing, and deployment.

• Experience working for a CAD vendor, public safety technology provider, emergency communications organization, or similar industry.

• Experience supporting large-scale communication center modernization initiatives.

• Familiarity with telecom systems and communication center infrastructure. Experience managing vendor relationships across global teams.
