I. JOB FUNCTION SUMMARY
A. Purchase products or services that meet Cleveland Gear & Hellan Strainer Co requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner in support of operations.
II. JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Issue and maintains Purchase Orders in support of the production requirements
B. Monitor and maintain inventory levels where Kanban is used
C. Analyze and decrease inventory levels as needed to improve inventory turns
D. Identify vendors to support Cleveland Gear growth initiatives
E. Identify and implement cost saving opportunities
F. Maintain on-time delivery dates and ensure quality requirements are met by the vendor
G. Work closely with planning and production to achieve on-time delivery goals
H. Assure all necessary documents contain the correct information required
I. Follow ISO 9000 procedures and flow down to vendors as needed
H. Strive to achieve the best pricing and delivery without
compromising quality.
III. Preferred Qualifications
A. Three (3) years experience in purchasing
B. One (1) to two (2) years of college
C. Three (3) years experience in manufacturing
D. Knowledge of MIS systems
E. Experience in multiple commodity purchases
