Job Title: Medical Billing RepresentativeDepartment: Patient Financial ServicesLocation: Regional Administrative CampusHours Per Week: 37.5Schedule: 8am - 4pm

Summary: The MBS ensures that all patient information, charges, billings and follow-ups are accurate, complete and timely. The medical billing specialist will be responsible for Preparing and submitting claims to various insurance companies through appropriate channels. As a MBS you are responsible to retrieve status information from payer websites, make minor corrections to patient account information as needed to ensure timely payments as well as follow each account through resulting in complete account resolution. Good organizational, time management and multitasking abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication as well as the ability to meet strict deadlines. Maintaining strict confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations is mandatory for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Creating and navigating Meditech account work lists (30%) 2. Correcting billing edits such as Incomplete, Rejection, Medical Review and Hold categories in Emdeon System (30%) 3. Performing consistent internal follow-up regarding bill holds for timely submission of claims (20%) 4. Performing Customer Service related actions (10%) 5. Abiding by productivity standards set by business office leadership (5%) 6. Reading and understanding patient medical records and ensuring HIPAA confidentiality (5%) Desired Attributes: - Bachelor Degree and/or 3 years Healthcare billing experience - AHIMA/AAPC certified. Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED - Minimum of one year billing experience in a health care organization Required Licensure/Certification:

PAY RANGE:

$20.66 - $29.99

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
