Full job description

  • Education Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible major-gift/development experience

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPA) in a related field. • CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credential.

Experience

Required:

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or major/planned-gift solicitation, including direct donor cultivation and portfolio management.

  • Demonstrated success securing five- and six-figure gifts. • Experience using a donor database/CRM (e.g., Raiser’s Edge) for prospect tracking, moves management, and reporting.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare, hospital, or academic medical center philanthropy/foundation setting, including grateful-patient or physician-partner outreach. • Experience with capital campaigns and planned/asset-based giving strategies. • Established relationships within the Northeast Arkansas corporate and civic community

Knowledge / Skills

Required:

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with clarity, professionalism, and attention to detail when engaging patients, visitors, co-workers, medical staff, and volunteers. • Superior interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with volunteers, administration, staff, physicians, and donors. • Self-starter capable of independently managing a large major-gift prospect/donor portfolio. • Ability to develop and execute annual and multi-year development business plans. • Proficiency with donor database management and financial/data reporting (Raiser’s Edge or comparable CRM). • Ability to manage, direct, and collaborate with others on strategy and planning. • High level of self-motivation, energy, and goal orientation. • Commitment to donor confidentiality, ethical fundraising standards, and applicable charitable-giving regulations.

Preferred:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Northeast Arkansas region and its corporate/civic community. • Knowledge of planned giving and asset-based gift structures. • Grant-writing and proposal-development experience.
