Tool Design Engineer

Job Description

Job Overview: We’re looking for a hands-on Tooling Engineer to design tooling, equipment, and mechanical components used in a manufacturing environment. You’ll spend most of your time designing while also working directly with equipment on the manufacturing floor for testing and R&D.

What You’ll Do Design tooling, equipment, and mechanical components using 3D CAD. Create detailed, fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings. Support testing, R&D, and improvements to existing equipment. Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams. Design parts and equipment with manufacturability, tolerances, fit, and assembly in mind.

Skills and Requirements

Strong 3D CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks or similar software. Experience creating and dimensioning detailed manufacturing drawings. Understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing processes. Experience designing machinery, equipment, tooling, fixtures, or similar products. Comfortable working on-site in a manufacturing environment. Tooling or fixture design experience. Machining, CNC, or machine shop experience. 3D surfacing experience. Hands-on hobbies such as 3D printing, fabrication, automotive work, or building mechanical projects.
