Employment Type: Full timeShift: Day Shift Description: Make a Difference in Employee Health, Safety, and Well-Being Are you a compassionate and organized healthcare professional who is passionate about supporting employees and promoting a safe workplace? We're seeking an Employee Health Registered Nurse to join our Employee Health & Safety team.
In this role, you'll serve as a key resource for employees, leaders, healthcare providers, and external partners while coordinating occupational health services, leave administration, workers' compensation programs, and employee wellness initiatives. You'll play an important role in helping employees navigate health-related situations while ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
What You'll Do Employee Health & Safety
- Coordinate employee health programs, including new hire screenings, immunizations, TB testing, and communicable disease follow-up.
- Maintain employee health records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support related to occupational health, ADA accommodations, disability programs, and employee referrals.
- Assist with DOT drug testing, substance abuse monitoring, and respiratory protection programs.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, public health agencies, and organizational leaders to support employee health and safety.
Leave Administration
- Administer and manage FMLA and leave of absence cases from start to finish.
- Review and validate certifications and supporting documentation.
- Track leave utilization, maintain accurate records, and provide reporting as needed.
- Support employees and leaders throughout the leave and return-to-work process.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and organizational policies.
Workers' Compensation & Return-to-Work
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims and serve as a case manager for work-related injuries.
- Investigate incidents and facilitate appropriate care and referrals.
- Develop and support return-to-work plans focused on employee recovery and success.
- Conduct ergonomic evaluations and recommend workplace safety improvements.
- Maintain OSHA logs and workplace injury reporting.
Bloodborne Pathogen & Exposure Management
- Coordinate care and follow-up for bloodborne pathogen exposures.
- Provide counseling, education, and support to impacted employees.
- Collaborate with infectious disease specialists and healthcare providers as needed.
- Monitor trends and contribute to prevention and safety initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current license to practice in the State of Iowa.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience in occupational health and/or workers' compensation preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive employee information with professionalism.
