Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Scheduler to join one of our large Federal Navy clients supporting complex ship repair, modernization, maintenance, and new construction programs. This individual will play a critical role in developing and maintaining integrated master schedules, supporting program execution, and providing schedule analysis that enables leadership to make informed decisions across high-visibility Navy programs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Microsoft Project, earned value management principles, and schedule risk analysis within a shipyard, defense, manufacturing, construction, or engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update resource-loaded Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using Microsoft Project for ship repair, overhaul, fabrication, and new construction programs.

  • Coordinate with Program Managers, Project Leads, Trade Supervisors, and subcontractors to collect, validate, and integrate schedule status updates.

  • Conduct critical path analysis and identify schedule drivers, constraints, and dependencies impacting program performance.

  • Perform schedule risk assessments and what-if scenario analyses to support strategic planning and program decision-making.

  • Monitor project performance against established baselines and identify schedule variances and recovery opportunities.

  • Calculate, analyze, and report Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics including: Budgeted Cost of Work Scheduled (BCWS/PV) Budgeted Cost of Work Performed (BCWP/EV) Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP/AC) Schedule Variance (SV) Cost Variance (CV) Schedule Performance Index (SPI) Cost Performance Index (CPI) Estimate at Completion (EAC) Variance at Completion (VAC)

  • Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly performance reports to program leadership and government stakeholders.

  • Provide schedule variance analysis, forecasting, and recovery recommendations to ensure program objectives are achieved.

  • Identify schedule risks and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop mitigation and corrective action plans.

  • Support Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs), schedule audits, and compliance reviews.

  • Maintain schedule integrity and ensure adherence to program scheduling standards and best practices.

Salary Range: $90k-$110k

Skills and Requirements

  • Min 5 years of program control/scheduling experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, marine construction environments, or similar industry
  • Proficiency in MS Project or other related enterprise scheduling software
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA or MSC reporting requirements
