QA Lab Technician – Powder Testing

Location: Aurora, IL

Pay: $20/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Contract: Through April 19, 2027, with potential for extension based on performance and business needs

About the Opportunity

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a QA Lab Technician for a contract opportunity in Aurora, IL , supporting quality testing within a nutrition and food manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on laboratory role with a primary focus on Powder Flow Testing (PFT) . You’ll prepare and test powder samples, accurately document results, perform routine equipment checks, and follow established laboratory procedures and data-integrity requirements.

When the PFT workload allows, you’ll also have the opportunity to support additional laboratory activities, including FTIR identity testing, sample preparation, basic physical testing, and laboratory documentation .

The contract runs through April 19, 2027 , with potential for additional time based on performance and ongoing business needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform Powder Flow Testing (PFT) on powder samples according to approved methods, SOPs, specifications, and testing priorities.

  • Receive, label, organize, prepare, and track laboratory samples.

  • Verify sample identity and condition before testing.

  • Accurately record calculations, observations, and test results in laboratory records or electronic systems.

  • Communicate testing status, delays, unusual observations, or equipment concerns to laboratory leadership.

  • Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and basic laboratory upkeep.

  • Maintain required laboratory materials and supplies.

  • Support additional laboratory testing as trained and authorized, including:

  • FTIR identity testing

  • Sample preparation

  • Basic physical testing

  • Glassware preparation

  • Laboratory documentation

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

  • Follow required PPE, chemical hygiene, waste-disposal, and safety procedures.

  • Complete required training and other related laboratory duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ year of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, sample-testing, quality, or related environment.

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or a related scientific discipline preferred .

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to follow written procedures and SOPs consistently.

  • Comfortable performing repetitive testing while maintaining quality and accuracy.

  • Strong organization and time-management skills.

  • Basic math skills and ability to accurately document laboratory results.

  • Basic computer proficiency; laboratory systems or electronic data-entry experience is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently after training and communicate issues promptly.

Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
