Full job description

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting for the business in Louisville, Kentucky. This role oversees month-end and year-end activities, supports compliance and tax reporting, and provides analysis that helps leadership understand financial performance. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of reconciliations, journal entries, job costing, and payables and receivables management, along with the ability to coordinate effectively with external accountants and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of financial information used to present complete and reliable consolidated business results.

  • Produce monthly and annual internal financial statements, interpret key trends, and support related distribution and compliance activities.

  • Perform detailed job cost reviews to evaluate project performance and improve financial visibility.

  • Administer and monitor the organization's accounting system to support efficient and accurate recordkeeping.

  • Review payroll tax documentation for accuracy and ensure supporting records are properly maintained.

  • Prepare inventory reporting for outside accounting partners and assist with fiscal year-end closing activities.

  • Complete state sales tax filings on schedule and help coordinate responses during state audit processes.

  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and resolution of related issues.

  • Manage commercial and workers' compensation insurance administration, including related financial coordination. Requirements • Experience managing month-end close processes and producing accurate financial results.

  • Strong background in account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and general ledger oversight.

  • Hands-on knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.

  • Ability to perform job costing analysis and translate findings into actionable financial insights.

  • Familiarity with payroll tax record review, sales tax filings, and compliance-related reporting.

  • Experience supporting year-end close activities and working with external accountants or auditors.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple accounting priorities and deadlines.
