We source, implement, and monitor leading Al solutions aligned to the priorities of health systems. As part of our team, you’ll play a key role in achieving our mission: To be the objective, trusted partner equipping health systems everywhere as they scale AI solutions that improve care and operational outcomes.

At Vega Health, each team member leads with integrity, trust, and accountability and works with humble ambition, collaboration, and curiosity. Please visit vegahealth.com for more information about our story and the DNA of how we approach this work.

About the Role

This is an essential role responsible for building the systems and environment that will enable Vega Health to scale as an enterprise and help our employees be at their best. This role reports directly to the CEO and works cross-functionally across every team at Vega Health.

At large, this role will drive internal operations, including monitoring progress against key performance indicators and goals, identifying and addressing bottlenecks to ensure that various functions operate effectively together, and managing other operational commitments.

Relocation to Durham, North Carolina, is not required for this role; however, some travel may be expected to create structured in-person time with the team (e.g., 20% in-person). We also expect new hires to spend one week on-site in Durham during the initial onboarding period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve operational dashboards and reports that provide the CEO and functional leaders with clear visibility into the ccompany’s strategic priorities and progress toward key milestones

  • Build and optimize Vega Health's internal communications strategy, ensuring information flows effectively across teams through Slack, all-hands meetings, documentation, and other communication channels

  • Design scalable systems, processes, and playbooks that remove operational friction internally and enable the organization to grow efficiently (e.g., establish company's operating cadence for regular business reviews)

  • Oversee operational planning and budgeting in partnership with the CEO and finance partners, ensuring disciplined resource management and financial visibility

  • Support the CEO’s executive reporting and communications by preparing insights and syntheses of business activities and progress for the Board of Directors, investors, and strategic advisors

  • Oversee corporate risk management, including business insurance programs and operational safeguards that protect the organization as it scales

  • Partner with external legal counsel to streamline contract management, corporate governance, and legal operations

  • Strengthen organizational compliance by maintaining operational policies, governance, and documentation that align with evolving business and regulatory requirements

  • Lead workplace operations, ensuring office environments, facilities, and infrastructure effectively support a high-performing and growing team

  • Manage real estate and workplace planning, including lease administration and office expansion to support organizational growth

  • Own the end-to-end vendor management strategy, optimizing vendor selection, performance, contracts, and spend to maximize operational value

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or related field; MBA, MHA, MPH, or other relevant master's degree preferred

  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in strategy, operations, or a related function, ideally in a highly regulated environment

  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling internal systems or operational infrastructure from an early stage, with a track record of translating organizational goals into practical programs and processes

  • Demonstrated ability to understand potential business trajectories, and proactively put systems and changes in place to unlock growth

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel

  • A genuine commitment to building an inclusive, high-trust workplace with comfort operating with ambiguity and making high judgment decisions

  • Working knowledge of healthcare compliance frameworks, including HIPAA and SOC 2, with experience managing compliance programs, coordinating audits, or working with external assessors are a plus

Annual Salary:

$135,000 - 150,000 USD Work Location Policy: Currently, we expect employees based in Durham to work from our office at least 3x a week. Employees who live outside of a 50-mile radius from our office may work remotely on a full-time basis with some travel to our office based on the needs of their function.

Relocation: For candidates who wish to explore relocation opportunities for this role, we can provide support.

Visa sponsorship: We will sponsor visas for the right candidate! We cannot guarantee successful visa sponsorship for every role or candidate. However, if we extend an offer to you, we will make every reasonable effort to support you in obtaining the necessary visa.
