Job Title: Economic Support Specialist 1Agency: Department of Community Health Job Requisition ID: JR0000003072Shift: Not Applicable (United States of America)Compensation Details: $28,571.29- $38,500 Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accepts applications and determines initial and ongoing eligibility for various classes of ABD Medicaid assistance specializing in Katie Beckett Medicaid.

Record and evaluate personal and financial data obtained from individuals.

Manage at least 50 cases a month.

Adheres to assigned daily work schedule, meets attendance standards as outlined in DCH policy.

Calculates budgets manually and using appropriate devices.

Ability to answer a high volume of incoming calls from customers.

The capability of being flexible with work assignments and the ability to multitask.

Keys in a high volume of data using standard office hardware and software.

Provide professional, courteous, and helpful customer service to our internal and external customers.

Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED AND One year of related experience which involved customer contact/interaction.

OR

Completion of 90 quarter hours (60 semester hours) at an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess the following:

  • Possess 2 - 3 years of knowledge and experience in current Family Medicaid policy.

  • Possess 2 - 3 years of experience processing Family Medicaid in GA Gateway

Key Skills & Qualifications:

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications applicants must possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from an approved accredited college

  • Two (2) years of experience screening or interviewing customers/clients as a regular part of the position

  • Medicaid experience or comparable program experience

  • Must pass the Mandatory New Hire Policy Training

  • Must be able to work a non-traditional work schedule. A non-traditional schedule may include early mornings, late evenings, or weekend work.

  • Novice level of understanding Katie Beckett policies and procedures

  • Must be able to perform simple math calculations.

  • Frequent traveling and overnight stays

  • Have a valid Georgia Driver’s License

  • Must have reliable transportation for work, traveling to meetings and for other official business for the agency.

  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
