Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Practice Scheduler for our HeartPlace Clinic located in Plano, TX. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for scheduling, rescheduling and cancelling all procedure(s).
  • Obtains and keeps up to date on all prior authorizations.
  • Contacts area facility for available time for procedure.
  • Educates patient on all aspects of the procedure that is scheduled.
  • Schedules all pre-op clearance appointments with PCP or specialist.
  • Coordinates all paperwork is needed (Including: complete order sets, H & Ps and imaging).
  • Works with physician to keep preoperative, surgical protocols updated.
  • Schedules all initial follow-up appointments from procedure.
  • Completes informed consents.
  • Calls in prescriptions according to MD protocol for procedure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant certification required or must obtain within 90 days of hire date.
  • At least one year of clinical experience in a front office /scheduling role.
  • Advanced imaging scheduling experience preferred but not required.
