The Billing Speciaist supports the day-to day operations of the Accounting Department. This position may be required to participate in cross training in the Accounting Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete timely and accurate billing for various service types to multiple payors in accordance with the Department of Health and Human Services.

Utilize multiple software programs to maintain paperless records as much as possible.

Prepare adhoc reporting to assist Leadership in growth and decision making.

Participate in the accounting monthly/yearly close process, which includes various tasks, including but not limited to: preparing journal entries and ensuring accurate accounting records.

Ensure proper authorizations are compliant for billing.

Work with various teams to reduce write-offs.

Respond to various pay sources on periodic audits of billed services

Complete HUD Compliance for tenants with HUD subsidies.

Assist in annual audits and other projects.

Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Technical or Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Possess advanced computer and telecommunication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.

An energetic, outgoing, detail-oriented person who demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.

Ability to work cooperatively with and under the direction and supervision of a variety of persons including coordination staff, vendors, consumers, etc.

Must pass periodic WI Caregiver Background Checks including Department of Justice Criminal Record Checks, and/or that of previous states of residence.
