A Brief Overview
Delivers comprehensive diagnostic, rehabilitative, and consultative audiology services for infants, children, and adolescents in a hospital-based setting, including but not limited to inpatient, outpatient, and surgical settings; emphasizes early identification of hearing loss, family centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and participation in program development, and continuous professional growth
Essential Functions

Diagnostic Evaluation — Conducts age-appropriate/developmentally-appropriate hearing assessments including ABR, OAE, VRA, CPA, tympanometry, and acoustic reflex testing for infants through age 21.Newborn Hearing Screening — Supports the hospital’s newborn hearing screening program, follow up testing, and reporting to state EHDI systems.Hearing Aid Management — Selects, fits, programs, and verifies pediatric hearing aids using real ear and speech mapping protocols.Assistive Technology — Fits and supports FM/DM systems, bone anchored devices, and other pediatric assistive listening technologies.Cochlear Implant Services (For Identified Team members) — Participates in candidacy evaluations, mapping, troubleshooting, and long term follow up for cochlear implant patients.Inpatient Consultation — Provides bedside assessments for medically complex children, including NICU, PICU, CCU and Med-Surg patients.Interdisciplinary Collaboration — Works closely with ENT, speech language pathology, neurology, neonatology, hospitalists, intensivists, pediatricians, oncologists, developmental pediatrics and other specialty providers; Facilitates referrals to appropriate resources/agencies within and outside of the organizationFamily Counseling — Delivers empathetic, culturally sensitive education to families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and long term management.Documentation, Billing & Reporting — Maintains accurate electronic health records, generates reports, bills for services and complies with hospital and state reporting requirements.Quality & Safety — Follows infection control, patient safety, and hospital compliance standards.

Program DevelopmentSupports expansion of pediatric audiology servicesParticipates in quality and safety initiatives, workflow optimization, and data driven decision making to improve patient access and outcomes.

Resource StewardshipEquipment & Supply Management — Assists with inventory, calibration scheduling, and cost effective purchasing recommendations.Contributes to financial planning discussions, identifies opportunities for revenue growth & expense management

Education Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Audiology Required
Experience Qualifications

Experience working with pediatric patients or pediatric clinical internship Preferred

Audiology Externship Completion Required

Licenses and Certifications

AUDIO - Audiologist Current and valid Nebraska State License Required and

ASHA - American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competency CCC-A within 1 Year Required
