Full job description

Location: District Wide

Position Title: Programmer Analyst

Salary/Pay Scale: Competitive

Requirements:

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, plus EITHER: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in a computer science field, plus three (3) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience (co-op is acceptable) as a computer programmer, systems analyst, or computer operator on a fourth generation mainframe computer, two (2) years of which shall have been in programming. OR (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in a computer science field, plus two (2) years of paid full-time or its equivalent experience as defined in (A.) above, one (1) year of which shall have been in programming. OR (C) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree, plus three (3) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience (co-op is acceptable) as a computer programmer, systems analyst, or computer operator, two (2) years of which shall have been in programming for a fourth generation mainframe computer. OR (D) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above. Applicants must meet Monroe County Civil Service Commission Criteria for a Programmer Analyst. Appointment is conditional upon fingerprinting clearance through the State Education Department.

Description:

Define, develop, test, analyze and maintain software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing and analyzing software programs and applications. Manage installation, maintenance and customization of vendor supplied information systems. Analyze business procedures and problems to implement new data systems and processes for improved business efficiencies. Interface with internal teams, management and external vendors.

Coding and scripting experience with programming tools ie: Microsoft Visual Studio, VB.NET, VB Script, JavaScript, Python, Node.js, etc. Experience with SQL, TSQL. Creation and maintenance of data connectors between systems using SFTP, CSV, XML, OneRoster, Clever and other automation systems. Experience with student systems, learning management systems and date-driven decision-making systems.
