Mentorship Strategist (Program Administrator)

USC Marshall School of Business Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies

The University of Southern California’s (USC) Marshall School of Business seeks a Mentorship Strategist to join the Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.

The Mentorship Strategist will serve as the architect and leader of the Greif Center's mentorship ecosystem. Rather than providing direct startup advising to individual students, the role will focus on designing systems, building relationships, securing resources, and creating scalable mentorship opportunities that connect students with subject matter experts and industry leaders.

The Greif Center is a national leader in entrepreneurship education, research, and programming. Our faculty is composed of a mix of highly regarded researchers and practitioners, all of whom are actively involved in providing highly innovative and experiential classroom and outside-of-class education. Ranked 7th and 5th for our graduate and undergraduate entrepreneurship programs respectively by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine (for 2022), we supplement our offerings with specialized graduate degree programs in social entrepreneurship (MSSE) and entrepreneurship and innovation (MSEI).

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Designing and leading mentorship strategy and programming.

  • Recruiting and managing mentors, entrepreneurs, alumni, investors, and industry advisors.

  • Developing new initiatives such as Entrepreneur-in-Residence programs and advisory networks.

  • Establishing mentorship evaluation frameworks and outcome metrics.

  • Producing executive-level reports and strategic assessments.

  • Managing program budgets and identifying external funding opportunities.

  • Developing grant proposals and sponsorship opportunities.

  • Supervising student workers, volunteers, and support personnel.

  • Collaborating with Marshall leadership, faculty, development, and alumni relations.

  • Expanding experiential learning opportunities through mentorships, internships, venture careers, and entrepreneurial networking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master's Degree; plus, three years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Directly related professional experience in area of program specialization

  • Special education, licensing or certification requirements may exist based on program content.

  • Administers an academic, research, clinical or administrative program of the university.

  • Plans and schedules program services.

  • Administers program operations and administrative functions, such as budget, policies, marketing and outreach.

  • Contributes to the design of program content, policies, and strategic efforts.

Anticipated Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $ 88,006.01 - $100,368.47 - $112,978.33. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
