Staff Technical Lead, Full Stack

This Job role is based of out of Pune with 5 days work from office

Vena Solutions is seeking a Staff Technical Lead for our Web Engineering team, which is a part of the larger Core Engineering group. You will act as the engineering team leader driving high-quality delivery of improvements across both the front end and back end systems at the heart of Vena's platform while staying hands-on and contributing to the codebase for our cloud-native SaaS platform. This role involves a meaningful mix of steady-state maintenance, feature work, and active modernization efforts on core platform infrastructure. How You'll Make an Impact

• Lead day-to-day engineering operations for the Core Engineering full stack team, ensuring consistent delivery of improvements while maintaining and improving long-term codebase quality and sustainability.
• Serve as the technical leader within the team, driving architecture decisions across the full stack in alignment with the broader architectural vision.
• Own and evolve the team's design system, ensuring consistency, reusability, and quality across the product.
• Lead modernization efforts on core platform infrastructure across both front end and back end systems, helping the team move the codebase forward incrementally and responsibly.
• Tackle complex technical challenges across the stack, providing hands-on solutions while empowering team members to contribute effectively.
• Oversee the design and maintenance of RESTful APIs, ensuring reliability, performance, and alignment with product needs.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure roadmaps are realistic, delivery commitments are met, and resource gaps are proactively identified and addressed.
• Mentor and develop engineers through coaching, pair programming, and thoughtful code reviews, fostering a culture of continuous learning and engineering excellence.
• Champion long-term codebase health by ensuring technical debt is appropriately identified, prioritized, and addressed during sprint and quarterly planning.
• Drive the adoption of AI-driven development practices and innovative tooling to enhance engineering productivity and accelerate high-quality software delivery.

We'd Love to See

• 8+ years of experience in full stack or combined front end and back end software development
• 2+ years of experience leading a software development team as a Tech Lead, or operating in a similar leadership capacity
• Interest in AI and willingness to explore AI-driven solutions to enhance performance and drive efficiencies
• Strong proficiency in React and modern JavaScript / TypeScript
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Experience working with and maintaining a design system
• Experience working on and modernizing large, established codebases across the full stack
• Experience in object-oriented methodologies and design patterns
• Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the software development lifecycle
• Demonstrated experience delivering against SaaS product roadmaps with a focus on improving development efficiency and delivery outcomes
• Strong track record in mentoring engineers and leading effective project planning and execution
• Hands-on experience working within Agile development environments
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Backbone.js is a plus
• Experience with Dropwizard or Spring Boot
• Experience with Java
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and back-end integration patterns
• Experience with front end testing frameworks such as Playwright (Storybook and Selenium a plus)

Base salary range 3,799,461 - 5,140,448 INR *Our salaries are tailored to roles, levels and locations. Your individual pay within this range is influenced by factors like work location, skills, experience and education.
