Title: Senior Software Thermal & Power Test Engineer

Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week
Fresh has partnered with a consumer electronic company, we are seeking a meticulous and skilled Test Engineer to join our team, focusing on testing and verifying power and performance on Android-based products. As a Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our consumer products.
Primary Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with software engineers to test, troubleshoot, and support consumer products.

Conduct analysis to identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and debug power-related issues and bottlenecks.

Identify and fix issues.
-
Engage with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
-
Write clear and concise documentation, reports, and test plans and test cases.
Day to Day responsibilities
-
Instrument, automate, and conduct power measurements and characterization for use cases of interest.
-
Create and execute performance tests to measure key metrics such as response times, throughput, resource utilization, and battery life.
-
Collaborate with software engineers and stakeholders to understand system requirements and identify potential issues.
-
Document and report test results clearly and concisely, including recommendations for improvements.
-
Perform new feature testing and drive deeper testing across products.
-
Use power and performance analysis tools to identify issues and optimize system performance.
-
Architect, design and develop Power and Thermal test software that facilitates manual and automated testing of various features and devices
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
-
Knowledge of Android performance testing and tools such as Bugreport, Perfetto, Battery Historian, ADB, etc.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

5+ years of experience in a related field or a bachelor’s degree.

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
-
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
Preferred Experience
-
Experience with Android OS and power/performance testing.
-
Experience with power and energy measurement tools.
-
Experience working with software and hardware teams.
-
Experience with debugging and performance analysis.
-
Familiarity with Linux or embedded systems.
-
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python.
-
Experience using tools such as ADB, Perfetto, and Battery Historian.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range is $70/hr to $80/hr.
